SUMMARY:AI – What is it all about?
DESCRIPTION:It seems like we cannot turn around without hearing about AI lately.  People and industries are currently tackling how to use it…or not. It is shaping geopolitical relations and impacting consumer prices. But what is AI? This session will dive into the definition of AI (and how its widely misunderstood)\, provide a non-technical background about how it works\, and look at some specific applications in healthcare. You might have seen your doctor use an “AI scribe” to summarize your last visit\, your doctor might be consulting OpenEvidence to make a plan for you or a loved one\, or you might be chatting with Google Gemini about a health concern. How should you think about AI? And how should you decide when to trust it (or not)? \nThe Presenter: Jeff Clement\, Ph.D. \nJeff Clement\, Ph.D. is a Senior Data Scientist at Ovative Group\, where he builds AI models and analyses for clients across retail\, technology\, healthcare\, and fintech. Internally\, he builds AI tools to help teams turn complex data into decisions they can act on\, and just as often\, insist on putting a “human in the loop.” \nJeff earned his Ph.D. and joined Augsburg University as an Assistant Professor of Information Systems. \nSince returning to industry\, he has remained focused on the same core question that shaped his academic work: how people actually use data and AI to make decisions—and how to ensure they can trust the information in front of them. \nA light lunch will be provided. \nThis is an in-person event – This event is “free” but we request that you “RSVP” for each person attending by clicking on the “Going” button below.

SUMMARY:Funeral Planning: Writing your obituary
DESCRIPTION:For this Foundation Lunch Session\, we will review the funeral planning essentials and then turn to the specific task of your obituary. While it may seem odd to ponder writing your own obituary\, family often comment on how it is a gift for them that their loved one provided a draft obituary. The key essential for writing an obituary as a person of faith is the shift from an obituary that sounds like an application for a job to a statement of faith and values. Join your pastors for this engaging lunch conversation. \nPresenters: \nThe Reverend Peter Nycklemoe – Senior Pastor\nThe Reverend Stephanie Friesen – Pastor for Formation and Care\nThe Reverend Melissa Pohlman – Pastor for Community Ministry\nCentral Lutheran Church\, Minneapolis\, MN \nA light lunch will be provided. \nThis is an in-person event – This event is “free” but we request that you “RSVP” for each person attending by clicking on the “Going” button below.
