Fraud Watch Basics and What to Do

October 13 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free

The purpose of this presentation is to equip participants with the tools to help spot and avoid identity theft and fraud. Specifically, we will look at the most common types of fraud, including imposter scams, romance scams, lottery scams and identity fraud. We also will inform participants about whom to contact (e.g. law enforcement) should they be a victim of identity theft or fraud. We at AARP hope that we may be able to have the real world outcomes of:

  • More reporting
  • Family relationships and generational wealth protected
  • Police take it seriously
  • Prosecutors take more cases
  • Policymakers act
  • Billions stay in our economy

Presenter:

George Anastos
AARP Volunteer

He has worked as a Corporate Trainer, a Human Resources Generalist, a Safety Director, a Firefighter/EMT, and as a clergyman.
AARP Minneapolis, MN

A lunch will be provided.
